This is ABSOLUTELY awesome!!!!! Celine & Elvis

Even if you're not an Elvis fan, this is really something. I love when they pan to Elvis - he really does look like he's there!

What a Thoughtful Gift!

My friend Marleen sent me this fantabulous personalised gift of my favourite men - Elvis, Richard Armitage and Stephen Moyer from True Blood! Didn't it come out fabulous?! I have hung it in my bedroom near my Trent Willmon picture and autograph. I loooooooooooooooooooove it!!!

What a Cake!

My friend Liv sent me a link to the blog showing this Elvis cake..... IT IS AWESOME and I soooooo want it!
From the blog:
Each tier was decorated after an Elvis movie or song. The top tier is Love Me Tender and Vivi Las Vegas. The middle tier is Elvis' top ten albums and the bottom tier is Blue Hawaii.

My "new" PJ pants

Not the most flattering picture and Lord knows what I am doing with my feet (LOL) but my Mum and Dad got me Elvis PJ pants as part of my birthday (back in April) and I love them. I already had Graceland PJ pants which I bought at Graceland but these are sooooooo my favourite!

But isn't he dead?

I know what you're thinking ... Elvis really has "left" the building. HOW can he be in concert?! Welllllllllll HE IS! It's the extravanganza that was previously part of Elvis Week a few years back in Memphis, TN. (By the way it's Elvis’ former bandmates live on stage with a video-projected Elvis)
AND I'VE GOT TICKETS!! Liv, the darl, emailed me about the tickets on sale in London and I was umming and ahhing about travelling down when my Elvis Insider email came in saying a show will be at Sheffield (AN HOUR FROM ME!) so I booked 'em danno asap! (I booked for me, Mum and two Aunts ..... SIXTH ROW!!!)
Exciting stuff. So something to look forward to next February!!!

Weenie Elvis - the Sequel!

As you know over the weekend my Mum gave me another Elvis pressie – a Weenie Elvis coaster (see below).

I looooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooove it! It’s the cutest thing ever! So I thought I would make a matching mug (you know how Mum and I have a hobby business creating handpainted ceramics) and it came out of the kiln yesterday and ....

don’t you think it came out cute???!!! I took the picture with my mobile so it’s not the best and the colour hasn’t come out properly (as it’s a purple not blue background).

I was really pleased with it (ol’ Weenie Elvis is a devil to draw! LOL!)

George gets some presents!

My car (BMW Mini), Gorgeous George, has gotten some goodies lately. Mum bought him the "Mini" bulldog from the showroom - I've named him Max - as well as an ELVIS SMILEY!!!! Eeeeek!! I love it and have hung it from my rearview mirror. She also got me an I Love My Mini aerial topper (in blue matching my car) which is on my aerial. I also have an I Love My Mini tax disc holder (no photos of the last two yet).

Stationery Queen

Since I no longer make my own labels, I “created” some lovely labels over at VistaPrint. I think they are really reasonably priced (especially if you choose the slowest shipping ~ which I never do, LOL!) and very good quality!

Here are the five different labels I have created for myself.

Goodies from Graceland

At the end of last year (2008), when I got my Christmas bonus, I used it for boring things like paying bills and paying off my overdraft as well as putting a little of it away for when my friend Georgia comes and visits.

However I think it's illegal ;-) not to use a small portion for something fun so I went to ShopElvis and bought myself some Elvis goodies (since I've loved the King since I went to Graceland). I bought myself some Mint Hot Chocolate (which is just divine!), the cutest Mini Elvis Calendar (with the most smouldering pictures ever), an Elvis iPod cover (which came with a free screen protector) and an Elvis Christmas mug! Aren't they AWESOME!

Things I Love

My friend back home gave me a linen teatowel featuring the Gumnut Babies (by May Gibbs) as part of my Christmas present.

They are a really famous Australian childhood icon and story and I was so thrilled with it, I decided to frame and display it. A little piece of home here in my "new" home.

I bought the frame and framed the teatowel last week and I hung it today. Here are two pictures of it in place. As you come up the stairs, it's above your head (where you can't see it) but when you come out of my bedroom, it's directly in view (I took the pictures from my bedroom doorway). I wanted it somewhere I could see it alot as it's just so cute. I love it and it's nice having something so Australian too as I've been homesick.

Since we're talking about things I love, I am totally loving Hugh Jackman (which Mum and I called Huge Ackman because that's what his name sounds like ~ I know ... we're odd).

I'm still loving James Dean (have done since I was about 12!)

and I LOVE Elvis Presley, the King! This started when I went to Graceland last year and hasn't stopped (if anything my love is only growing). (I am drinking Elvis Mint Hot Chocolate out of an Elvis mug as I type!)

Happy Birthday Elvis!

It's Elvis's birthday today ... surely that means cake! Can you believe he would have been 74 today?!

I need me some smouldering Elvis.... STAT!

Ahhh that's better. Having a really horrible time at work (every day I get another example of why I need to leave here and find a new job STAT) and my boss is determined to make this a really horrible Christmas for me. Let's look at this effort so far:
1. He didn't pay me! I was due to be paid (with a contracted bonus) last Friday - the last weekend before Christmas (i.e. perfect timing to finish off my shopping - both gift and food).
2. He finally paid me last night (AFTER the weekend) but grudgingly!
3. Despite giving him and my two other bosses, really nice and expensive presents, he hasn't given me anything and has WITH-HELD the presents my other bosses gave him to pass on to me.
4. We haven't had a Christmas lunch or meal.
5. I was due to be off tomorrow (we should be closing today and re-opening on 5th January) and had used my overtime to take the day off to chill out and do all the last minute things I couldn't afford to do on the weekend when I didn't get paid and he's just demanded I come in tomorrow to print off an email for him (????!!!!!) and I have to be in early and he'll let me know LATE afternoon, when I can leave .... and I might have to come in as well on the 27th and 2nd ... to PRINT EMAILS?!?!!
It's just one thing after another and I am so upset, I could just burst into tears (although I don't want to give him the satisfaction).
Every single day I look for a new job and I hope and pray one of my applications that I've submitted comes off EARLY in the new year!

Odd Thomas

What a great book. I've only read 279 pages of 420 but boy I'm really enjoying it. The funny thing is my very VERY first impression was that the story was, well "odd" but within the first fourteen pages, my interest was piqued and I kept reading .... and I am so glad I have. It's been a great and gripping story.
