Last Day!

Yesterday I finished work and was given some beautiful gifts from my bosses and the girls in the office next door. I got a big bunch of flowers and a beautiful Sheaffer Pen & Pencil set. It was a really nice last day actually. Now I have nearly a full week off before I start my new job at the College. Yippee!

Addicted Much?

As you know, I love Richard Armitage (sigh) since "North & South" first aired on the BBC in 2004 so it wasn't just good news (or even great news) but super-duper-fabby-do news to hear he was joining the cast of Spooks.

(This picture is my computer wallpaper and Blackberry wallpaper)

Even better that he's playing Lucas North, a tormented, tortured MI5 agent who has been held in a Russian Prison for eight years. Ohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh-myyyyyyyyyyyy-Gawwwd! NO ONE SHOULD BE THAT SEXY?!

Spooks is SUCH a good show that when I watched Season 7 (where Richard first appears), I kept forgetting he was in it. I just got lost in every episode! It's so amazing.

When Spooks first came on TV (2002), I was hooked (as was the rest of Britain, I think!) but was traumatised when in episode two, one of the new Spooks (slang for Spy incidentially) gets her face burnt off in boiling oil (when she is discovered). Oh man, it was brutal. I lost touch with Spooks after a couple of seasons and Richard has been a good excuse to get back into it. And like I said, it's a testament to the show that I forget I am meant to be checking him out and am completely absorbed in all the characters.

Anyway Marleen, one of my best friends, bought me Season 5 and 6 on DVD as an eaaaaarrrrrrrrrly birthday present (she is the one who prodded me and said "helllooooo. Richard Armitage + Spooks. You HAVE to watch) and they arrived last night and I watched two discs of Season 5 last night. Addicted Much?

(Gena made me these wonderful Spooks Blinkies! (Drool) but I haven't worked out how to upload them properly so they flash and blink like they do in real life).

LOVE THIS SHOW!
I even dreamt last night about Adam Carter (Rupert Penry-Jones) and Roz Myers (Hermonie Norris) and how we were all on an operation together. LMAO!

Colour of my Rainbow

Mmmm. Interesting. I am not 100% sure if that's all true but it was fun to do!

Your rainbow is intensely shaded white, red, and violet.

What is says about you: You are a creative person. You appreciate energetic people. You get bored easily and want friends who will keep up with you. People depend on you to make them feel secure.

Find the colors of your rainbow at spacefem.com.

What a beautiful day!

When I woke up this morning, this was the view. A beautiful pink & mauve sky...

and then three deer appeared!

It started snowing again at lunch and this was the view from my desk at work.
and my backyard when I got home.

It's been a beautiful day!

My Nanna

I miss my Nanna ~ every single day since she passed away in 1998. She was the most amazing person I've ever known. A real inspiration. Her joie de vivre was amazing and I am still trying to replicate it.

I believe that our loved ones can give us signs after they have passed away and for 11 years I have been looking. I have seen little things that I have attributed to my Nanna but I got the biggest sign a few weeks ago.

I've been looking for a new job, found one I really liked and went for an interview. Even my friends remarked how calm I was about it all. Even after the interview - just ..... "zen". Later that day I was called and told I got the position. (Yippee). A few moments later when my Mum was looking for a new puppy in the newspaper, she came across Memoriams by accident (she never looks there) and saw the post for my Nanna ~ who had passed away that very day 11 years previously.

I just felt like my Nanna was saying she was there for me, with me, and that this is the right job for me. It was a really awesome moment.

Hot Tubbing Koala!

In Victoria (Australia), the temperature has been above 44C degrees (112F) all week and they are forecasting another week of 40+ temperatures.

Power is failing, trains have stopped running because tracks are buckling under the heat . It’s just scorching.

And it seems that the people are not the only ones suffering. Check out these photos of a little Koala which just walked onto a back porch looking for a bit of heat relief. The woman filled up a bucket for it and this is what happened!

Cuuuuuuuuutttttttttttttttteeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!!!!

The funniest thing ... EVER

My friend Marleen lent me her copy of "The Vicar of Dibley: Holy Wholly Happy Ending" on DVD as we're both big fans of the scrumptious Richard Armitage.

So I thought since I was going to go on the treadmill that I would put it on and watch it at the same time. BIG MISTAKE. HUUUUUGE MISTAKE.

I nearly fell off (from laughing) not once, not twice .... but THREE TIMES. This is bar none, the funniest thing I have ever seen. I squealed with laughter and am definitely going to buy myself a copy to keep.

Aren't they BEAUTIFUL?!

My friend surprised me with a beautiful floral delivery last week when I got my new job (Yup! I have a new job! Squeeeal). I found out and told her via text and the next day these flowers were waiting for me when I got home - which is really sweet, thoughtful and IMPRESSIVE since she lives in America and I live in England. They are just BEAUTIFUL! I feel so special and it just makes this really exciting phase (new job), all the more exciting!

Thanks Karen!! You're one in a million!
